A message from AMPP San Diego Section President, Mark Heuslein:

Thank you for voting in the new AMPP San Diego Board Members. We are excited to look at another year of serving our community and members.

It is an honor to continue to serve you as the AMPP San Diego Section President for the term of the 2023 calendar year.

My intentions are simple. I have a dream to share with the industry what I have learned both on and off the job site for over 44 years in the business. My knowledge has been gained in the field and then in the classroom.

It is a pleasure to take what over many years SSPC and NACE have accomplished (now collectively known as AMPP), to bring an even higher education platform, enhanced work ethics, standards improvement, engineering technologies, corrosion, and cathodic control, inspection qualities with coatings and paint opportunities to include the commercial as well as the industrial spaces… to bring them all together under one banner, AMPP.

Here in Fightertown USA, San Diego, we have a unique path that we all can participate in and to assure we continue the growth in our industry through the next generations, especially with the help of approved training programs that are already established or can be developed… Join.

A person might ask, “What is the benefit of becoming a member?” I am glad you asked. The reasons above are evident alone but with the technology changing so rapidly, especially in the coatings industry as well as the engineering and inspection world which is growing at warp speeds, we need this organization so that we can all keep current with standards, new practices, and ever-changing resources. We want to have educational and technical speakers locally as well as classes offered at home and abroad, and supportive resources so that our professionalism becomes the standard that leads our industry worldwide. I can’t do it alone. Collectively, we can all do it and this is where I ask you to join us. Please think about how you can participate.

One more thing; Let’s think about the young guns out there who have their whole life ahead of them and how the world is changing and the impact we can make by helping financially and reaching out to others for financial help with scholarships.
